Platinum Leafs tickets put up on Ebay for $250,000 by season ticket-holder


A Toronto-area businessman is testing the dedication of avid Leafs fans by offering his behind-the-net seats on EBay for $250,000.


Todd Frankland set a minimum bid of $125,000 for a pair of platinum seats two rows from the ice.

Bidding began Monday and closes Aug. 18, at 1 p.m. EDT.

A second adjoining pair is expected to be auctioned off Aug. 15, ending at 4 p.m. on Aug. 25.

There were no offers as of Monday afternoon.

THATS CRAZY i dont think nobody would pay that much just for platnum behind the net i mean its good to be behind the net but ha 250,000 thats a quarter million! lol

That's nout. Sure this is different - but I saw a pair of Live8 Hyde Park tickets on ebay for a couple of million pounds, although that was before ebay removed them all.

WOW That is a lot of money just for some seats! I would never bid on those things.

I guess you really have to be a die hard hockey fan. but because hockey has been gone one whole season I bet they sell for more than that. (someones got to much money out there)

Being a Leaf fan, that's a reasonable price. Those tickets are like 300 - 400 + dollars a game.. 16000 + x 2 = 24000+ for the season.. but it's near impossible to get them..

6,000 people are in a waiting list just to buy the tixs at regular price.. the lockout has nothing to do with it.

People were mad when the Leaf only lowered ticket prices by 5%, but with the hockey mad people here (myself included.. i post alot at hfboards.com).. I could see why they shouldnt have at all.
