You can get windows vista rc1 has just been released. Has anyone got it. And windows xp is quite good but it can get quite annoying sometime. I was just wondering whether you like apple imac or windows xp/vista(if you have it)

Mac is better 100%
Windows is not very good at all,
Mac is good for business uses and home uses
windows is ok for home uses but thats all, allthough people use it in business, i think they would benefit from using macs or linux

Yes, I have found that Macs freeze up wayyy too often. It seems as though they can't handle much of a load before running out of memory and carking it. One of the main reasons I will never purchase a Mac...

I vote 110% Linux. Why? Because its open source meaning less viruses it uses much less code meaning less wasted hard drive space and almost all software for Linux is also open soruce.

You should of made an option for people to vote linux... I prefer using Fedora Core and the new fedora core 6 looks awesome. If l really had to choose probably windows because of all the games you can play on it.

I prefer windows because more things are designed for it. The user interface is nicer for the advanced user.

I would, however, like to buy one of the new intel macs, to dual boot to windows.

I am a Window's fans... but eventually, windows new OS, Vista need a high end computer, which will make my wallet bleed seriously... and the price is quite the same compare to Mac now. Furthermore, they say that Vista is a copy of google and Mac... but still... go for Vista.

What about unix? or other?

However, I do like windows. I have had windows from back in the day (windows 286 baby!!!!) I didn't hit all of the windows, but I got my hands on the big ones, 3.1, 95,98, NT, XP.

I did hear that macs are coming around and are the better way to go for internet and other stuff.. But that is what I have heard, don't know myself....

But, jaygreentree, you see, the main reason why I don't choose Linux as my first selection of OS, is that LINUX is lack of graphic. Maybe you will think that I am stupid, because liek VISTA, the graphics cause this OS as a ram killer!! However, I rather choose to spend more to buy this "Good" OS so that I will be happy everytime I see beautiful colours flying over my desktop :p

Actually The newer versions of linux are more graphical then older versions. Take Fedora Core 4 and up for example. It has a great gui (graphical user interface) much like Windows but Linux is coded better then windows so you don't use up all your memory and ram. The problem with windows isn't that it has to many graphics but the code takes much more space and uses more memory and ram. The Microsoft Programs don't compress there code like Linux/Unix based systems do.

yes i'd have to agree with jay, although you may think linux or anything besides mac and windows are just command prompt-based, you're wrong, there are new linux distrobutions every day and there is quite an array of GUI-based linux builds out there today, so just look at fedora core, or ubuntu, SuSE and there are plenty of other ones that are good, but take a look into some of them
