After putting the remote DB access back to localhost, and re-editing the config files to point back to localhost, I fully expected my forum to be working once again.

I was sadly mistaken. I'm hoping that like before, I'm merely overlooking something simple.

The forum is http://bdsyndicate.pcriot.com/forum

You CAN load the index page, which initially led me to beleive I had succeeded. But then I noticed that the stats at the bottom of the page now displayed a large

My joy is neigh tangible[/sarcasm]. Figuring it was just that that was broken, I proceeded to my announcements setion, promptly typed up a less cynical than usual post, and on hitting the post button, was once more greeted with;

Even more joy. So, I figured, "Let's check the Admin CP error logs!" I clicked on the Admin CP link, was shown the login page, put in my information;

... This must have been how McCarthy felt about the Communists.

Upon managing to fenagle a decent idea, I checked the server error logs via my FTP client, getting a bunch of unformmated stuff that to me equates to jibberish.

Code:
Date: Thu, 31 Jan 2008 18:20:10 -0500
 Error Number: 1142
 Error: INSERT command denied to user '{my account name}'@'localhost' for table 'ibf_sessions'
 IP Address: {edited out}
 mySQL query error: INSERT INTO ibf_sessions (id,member_name,member_id,member_group,login_type,running_time,ip_address,browser,location,in_error,location_1_type,location_1_id,location_2_type,location_2_id,location_3_type,location_3_id) VALUES('b62be44368fc9faf019be091d5660aa4','',0,2,0,1201821610,'76.235.190.20','Mozilla/5.0 (Windows; U; Windows NT 5.1; en-US; rv:1.8.1.11) Gecko/20071127 Firefox/2.0.0.11','idx,,',0,'',0,'',0,'',0
I PRESUME that that means that there's an issue with something connecting to this "ibf_sessions" (which apparently through the magic of MyPHP Admin, is not something I can look at).

So, my good and helpful friends, ideas?
(Also, I apologize for formatting issues. At the moment I have time for three of the following: sarcasm, useful information, fairly proper typing, making posts not be all intented funny. The next one will probably exclude sarcasm.)

Go into your cPanel, click on MySQL databases, and give the username which you edited out above user '{my account name}'@'localhost' access to the correct database. This should solve it.

Eureka! Thanks, that did it. Apparently the user had lost the "insert" privs. I don't think I would have gotten that by randomly clicking around.

Thanks, mate. You'll be getting that blue check mark clicked in a few seconds.
