I was wondering if it would be possible to mod it to work like the offer center here. I mean, what I'd like to do is start a website where you complete offers for $. I was thinking it would be much simpler to mod phpBB (or maybe not, lol) instead of using one of the ready made scripts on the web.

To clarify what I'm asking (because I talk in circles...the way I think...lol). I want a forum that I can use as the complete website. You register for the forum, you can access the offers section, and when you complete the offers the points are added to your account automatically. (Like they are here.) When you get enough points for a cash payout, you can redeem them (and it automatically deducts the points from your account). I know what they use at x10, but I don't have any actual $ of my own right now. (Sad I know). So I can't afford to do it that way.

Or, if you know of a better way of doing this, please let me know.

Yes, you can. It would require a major hacking of phpBB as it don't think it has a decent points system yet.

I *was* going to work on one, but then the guy I was working for decided it was too expensive and decided to call it off.

Yes, we all realize that.
He's asking for a phpBB mod, he doesn't care what x10 uses. And, besides, vBulletin costs a lot of money, which he explicitly stated in the first post that he doesn't really have a lot of.
