Hi,

I was really hoping not to have make a post about this, but my searching for the answer on here and Google have been so unsuccessful.

I have found the DNS flush sticky and did what the poster said do and another said to do on page 3 (I think). And I just found the DNS thread for adding my own domain to X10h versus using the subdomain X10h gives. As I thought I had did that already, but I see I was supposed to add it to X10hosting panel and not through cPanel. So, I just did that and I'm wondering if that is the reason why I am having issues.

My issue:

I used Fantastico to install Joomla 1.5 script only. But when I enter my site url into my browsers (Firefox and IE) I get: Page Load Error message. I tried entering my url name/administration and I get the message in both browser: Page Load Error. So, I am unable to proceed to actually setting up Joomla adminstration or am I confused about something? Either way, neither page will load. Or was I supposed to manually install Joomla 1.5 (I read that somewhere online, too).

So, is this because it's not fully propagated (or whatever that word is). I looked in whois and the servers according to them have not been changed yet. But when I look in my domain host account (i bought my domain name from dynadot) it says my domain name is pointing to x10hosting's nameservers. I don't even know if I'm using the right terminology here.

Does someone understand what I mean? Do I need to do something extra or what? It's been less than 24 hours since I changed my dns settings over to x10h's nameservers and since I just properly added my domain to x10h panel. I've also added my domain through my cPanel on this webhosting site, too.

Hope I didn't confuse anyone with my terminology. I am really knew to this, my sister is the brain on this kind of stuff but she isn't online to help me out right now. So, I've made a post here.

Thanks,
sw

Re: Joomla Help: Haven't been able to view the Joomla set up page after using Fantast

well you explained your problem nicely...thats how everyonee should do it :)

most of the members including me have had problems installing Joomla and/or wordpress with Fanatastico, i can only guess that its probably a small bug.
i installed both of them manually by uploading files to the server through FTP and they work fine.

so i suggest you should try doing that too....
and also, the DNS changes are propagated fully in about 48 hours or so...so you should wait till that time is over, try again after that, then try installing it manually.

if you still face a problem you can always submit a support ticket

hope this helps

Re: Joomla Help: Haven't been able to view the Joomla set up page after using Fantast

Hi akkudreamz,

I appreciate you taking the time to address my situation. Thanks for sharing with me your experience and solution. Because I'm a little anxious in getting my site up and running, I'll probably go ahead and manually install it now and see how it goes.

Oh, wait a minute I just checked whois on my domain and it finally shows my name servers as x10hosting. But my site isn't working still. Let me go manually install it---I've got the tutorial on that thankfully=).

BRB to edit this post to include the results.

EDIT: I'm now at the Joomla! Web Installer page and this is what I see as Error:

My Display Errors are On (Joomla! recommends them to be off)

I don't have a php.ini file (I've searched using the search tool in cPanel). So, now what do I do?

I proceeded on anyway without fixing the Display Errors to be OFF. I completely filled out the fields on the 4th Step: Database page. Afterward, I received the following message:

Error
An error has occurred.:

Cookies do not appear to be enabled on your browser client. You will not be able to install the application with this feature disabled. Alternatively, there could also be a problem with the server's session.save_path. If this is the case, please consult your hosting provider if you don't know how to check or fix this yourself.

I don't have a session.save_path file neither (I used the search tool in cPanel).

I'm stumped on what I'm supposed to do. I'm not able to submit a support ticket. I just tried registering and it said it's not activated or something. EDIT: I was able to login to support center. But could still use some help with my Joomla! Web Installer issues.

Will someone please help me.
