okay i installed joomla with fantastico and it worked and my site is all joomla now but how the hell do i edit it

What exactly do you mean?

You edit it by logging in as administrator ... www,yourdomain.com/administrator/

Fantastico would of given you ( when you installed ) a link to the main page of your Joomla site and a link to login as the Admin.

I personally have no preference, as I am new to CMS software myself.
Although, I have tried Joomla - its pretty decent compared to others I have just looked at.

There is one I came across called Dolphin that looks interesting ( although, when I tried to install, it seems to be missing a few pieces, so I am not sure on it at this point - may have been me ) : http://www.boonex.com/products/dolphin/

Others on here will recommend others based on their likes / dislikes of the systems ... go with the one that offers what you are wanting, ease of use for you, etc.
