Joomla templates are very easy to install.
First, log into the admin section of your Joomla! website.
From there, click "Extension", then "Install/Uninstall".
This gives you 3 options for installing with Joomla!. The easiest, and one I'll explain here, is the top one.
Simply click the browse button, and find the zip file containing the template you wish to install. After, click install, and Joomla! will install the template to the proper location automatically.
Now that your template has been installed, you'll need to change it to be the default theme for your Joomla! website.
While still in the admin area, click "Extensions" and then "Template Manager". Here you can see all the templates installed for your website. Simply click the radio button on the left hand side of the template you want to use, and then click the gold star that says "Default".
Your template has now been set to be the default template for your website, and what users will see. To be sure the changes were made, click "Preview" in your admin near the top, towards the right side.
It might be a lot of reading, but really only takes seconds to do.
