Well, advertising would help. Some people do click the ads, some people have ad blockers and do not even see the ads. But advertising your site will help a little big, maybe even a lot.

I would imagine that x10 gets quite a bit from ads, enough to cover server costs? Maybe not.

I think you should try to make the adsense ads craw-able on your site by Google Adsense Bot.
