This is not true. On my first try Firefox crashed while playing. I had only played for maybe a minute, Fx froze and the Mozilla Quality Feedback Agent opened, which closed Fx and submitted the crash report. I think it should only say you've played it after the score has submitted. It's a tournament so that's kind of unfair that it says I've already played once.

The staff might not be able to control when the game is considered "played", since it is likely not an option they can easily change in the ibProArcade software.
