theres still a lot of work, but im wondering what people think.

im making it in Wings 3D

The renderd helis are in the folwing order:

Wow. It sure does look like you know what you are doing when it comes to 3D. Looks really good :). Did you ever fly one of these helicopters? Looks like this ones propeller is going to snap off, hehe. Nice work!

Very nice! I have never tried Wings 3D myself, but did take a shot at Blender and I was very impressed. It's a free, open-source 3d modeling program that is both complex and powerful.

I get what Mike's saying about one of the rotors snapping off, that interesting curved shape makes the back one look like it will hit the tail :).

Yes, the interface is a little bit daunting. For one thing, you need to have a 3-button mouse with wheel to really use it. A laptop with a touchpad won't do. If you're interested in learning, though, there are a bunch of video tutorials or you could just play around with it for a while. That's what I did :)

Is it just me or is the blades too long? In my viewpoint, the blades (if they were to spin) would chop off the tail wing... maybe I need a better picture.

I thought that was just me, but from the top and side it looks that way too. I like the model in general, though. Next step would be to find some textures (photos of metal, etc) and make them seamless and apply to the shape.

That sure does look close to me. A little too close maybe? ;) Let's just say I wouldn't want to fly it unless the blades were cut off a few inches. Loving the design though :)

as you can see in the pic, once it starts spinning, cyntrifical force will cause it to rise up to about there.

and i have seen helicopters up close and personal, and one roter was actually touching the stabilizer, since they tie it down to keep it from spinning in the air.
i found it a bit odd and wondered if they flew it in or rolled it in on its little 2 inch wheels.

Oh, I see. Now that you say it like that. Makes it look better :) Have any plans on building this model? :) Like in real life..
