Well, basically this is a big blow for many guitarists like me who generally learn through playing songs from tabs. These tabs are not illegal. People have listened to the songs and written down how they think it is played. We then look, learn, correct, and improve. This shouldn't be illegal. I hear some people do just copy from the official books, but i haven't met any yet. Anyway, what are your views on this? Should this be illegal if people are writing down their own interpretation of the song?

Next thing you know, they will ban McDonalds because it makes you fat.

But it might not be too bad for me since now days I've been more into trying to make my own songs. Truely is a bummer to hear though.

Personally, tabs help me. Eventually you'll want to grow out of them, but it doesn't hurt anybody to use them. I agree, they're wanting to control and ban everything now days. Totaly stupid.

The MPA is only looking out for its self. They have the most to loose, because they hold the copyrights not the artists. And if it was up to the artists most wouldn't care because true musicians just want to get their music heard.

Besides, that would mean that if one musician draws inspiration from another (which happens all the time) they are breaking the law. Personally I say the more artists that adopt Creative Commons the better.

What would be scary is if they developed a way to read your minds or install drm into people so they could sue their customers, every time they got a song stuck in your head.
