The lighting implement on these sigs, this is going to be eh, not beginner but not advanced.

Your Friends:
Dodge
Burn

ok, to get the effect that the 'lighting' is coming from a certain angle, duplicate your render, and do a motion blur, and just mess around with it until your satisfied, then lower opacity. After lowering the opacity, to where you can see somewaht lines, go to
Filter->Render->Lighting Effects Set the angle to the same angle you motion blurred.
then go on your render layer below, and take out burn, and lighting brush where you want shadows (Circle brush 3-6 pts), then after you find out all the dark places, lightly go around the lighter areas, then go to your blurred layer, and make it a little darker (burn) then just lightly very lightly go around burn with dodge, just to give it a fading out/shadow look, making it a better shadow. to make your 'Lighting' look neater, i suggest sharpening your blurred layer, and the layer beneath, it makes your lighting stand out even better.

I would like to see some works here if you try it, even if you think they are crappy
also tell me if this tutorial helped you, this is my first tutorial.

Yes they are done in Photoshop. Rising your tut would be better if you posted it in steps with screenshots instead of just one paragraph. Interesting tut you have there though.
