I tried to get this to work, but I'm completely new to the whole mySQL thing.
I want to achieve something like what ccount has. For every click I (and others) can see how many clicks have been made.

well if you mean for like a page views sort of deal hypergurl.com has a counter and you just need to create a php file and make sure you have an include script on all of your pages that bring it with it and it will count every time someone visits any of your pages or views a new page etc.
