What about

Fedora Core
Dam Small Linux
Kubuntu

Fedora Core is a popular distribution, and why list CentOS and Redhat, they are both from the same packages, just one is free?

... Repeat after me; It's just a computer.

What's just a computer? *laughs* Maybe to you its just a computer ...

I would have to agree with Zenax. For me, I was raised around DOS and windows based machines. I tried a Mac once in school ... left that lab behind and wandered back over to the PC room.
I would love to learn *nix ... but when I first attempted it, and went looking for assistance ... I felt a bit out of my league. The answers given were like I was suppose to have mastered the thing already.

Linux owns! And im loving the 3D desktops with Beryl. But since they stopped work on Beryl, im waiting for Compiz Fusion! :D Well I could get it via GIT, but my new motherboard is not liking Linux for some reason. Ubuntu crashes about 5 min on launch. And it was doing that on windows for a while too. So I think I just got a funky mobo.

Yah, *nix users can geek-out quite a bit when new people show interest in learning how it works. The nice thing about linux these days is the "live" distributions. It's growing in popularity in the linux community because you don't have to install anything on your computer. The linux distribution just loads up on your CD Rom (or USB Memory key) and works completely on RAM memory. It's a great way to test-drive linux and to poke around its inner-workings.

I did notice that. ( Regarding the "Live" use )
Once I get moved and settled, I may reformat my other computer and install an *nix OS again and sit down and start learning it ( Between school and whatnot )

If you want a feel with linux try xandros. It is the closest linux distro to windows that I have found atleast. I use Kubuntu now. Was on Suse 10.2. May switch to 10.3 in October.
