My desktop computer is on 1024x768. Don't have a laptop, but if I do get one, chances are, I'll either keep it in the same res, or its widescreen equivalent.

Well Chris, it seems you and I are the only ones using dual-screens. I've got 1280x1024 running on two screens.

I also have my laptop running 1024x768, which I flip on it's side and use as a third monitor sometimes using MaxiVista. Check it out sometime, http://www.maxivista.com

P.S. Chaganlal1 is right, those are all the resolutions your graphics card supports. Check it out, unless you have a monitor which doesn't restrict resolutions, the highest you'll be able to get is 1280x1024 on a 17" monitor. Heck, even 19" LCDs have a native of 1280x1024.

@PSP-Heaven - The second monitor is for the external monitor port on your laptop. You can connect a regular monitor to most laptops and use two screens. You should check your Owners Manual to figure out how to disable that port if you aren't using it; it'll drain your battery faster if it's on.
