login help

Ok, thanks to the guys who helped me get the login thing right....its working now.....but what i want now is to keep people from downloading without making an account/signing up etc. I want to do this by restricting access to the pages with files on them or having a thing where it says you must be signed in to download files (as it says on most websites today such as fileaxis.com and fileplanet etc.) does anyone know how to do this? ill pay more than likely for help with this.

assuming you have the username in the session - filled in if they login right

if ($_SESSION['username'] != '') {
/*PAGE HERE*/
} else {
ERROR: You must be logged in
}

Thats a very simple method.

where would i put this? in a seperate page? or what?

Yes in maybe like download.php, there is a more advanced way with more securty, let me know if you want it, i could work on it this weekend
