Bob Stein has just posted that the next version Windows, currently codenamed 'Longhorn', will in fact be named Windows Vista.

There is currently no confirmation or announcement from Microsoft on this, but as I am in Seattle meeting some people from Microsoft at the moment I will be asking around...

What ever its called you can all ways just use the version number which I think is 7

I think "vista" is not such a great name of an OS but I under stand where they are comming from.

well, thats a crappy name, Longhorn sounds alot better.
here are the definations of Long horn and Vista..
long·horn

1. Any of a breed of cattle with long horns, formerly bred in great numbers in the southwest United States.
2. A variety of Cheddar cheese molded into a long cylinder.

vis·ta n.

1. A distant view or prospect, especially one seen through an opening, as between rows of buildings or trees.
2. An avenue or other passage affording such a view.

which one is now better in terms of definations..

I think they should have used a unique name for an OS to replace Longhorn..

i also prefer longhorn, i might get it, though not everyone in the world has a 64bit processor, this will mean for longhorn (vista) to be popular they will lower price of these processors, cheaper for us so then we can by microsoft vista.

- MicroTechXP your site link isnt working
