Longhorn is a great OS. I have the beta beacause my dad works for microsoft. I even know the official name (I cant leak that out) but it is better than longhorn. ("longhorn" that is such a messed up name. It is so southern). I just wanted to talk about the effects. I know most of you here at x10hosting probably use your computers to program and tasks like that so you might have your computer set to proformance which takes all those effects away but still if you thought the effects for xp were good you should see longhorn. It is so awesome. The windows slide out and then open like a scroll. They have great themes too instead of those 4 junky xp themes (normal, silver, olive, and older windows versions themes). And like XP, it uses richer colors than previous versions.
The last thing I want to talk about is the differents between the 32-bit and the 64-bit versions of the new version of windows. As some of you might of notised with xp 64-bit, 64-bit has alot of compatibility issues. My dad says he reccomends you go to 32-bit beacause 90% of all windows xp computer users have 32-bit operating systems and there for if you upgrade your computer or take your hardware and put it on your new 64-bit computer, it is uncompatable. Even though microsoft claimes it is "easy" to get 64-bit drivers for 32-bit hardware, manufacturers are going to be slow.
