Looking for a specific linux build

I am looking for a Linux build that will support my old desktop's hardware.

It has 64 mb RAM, 8 gb harddrive, 400 mhz processor, and basically very old hardware.

That should work.

It works on a thinkpad with 32mb or 64mb (can't remember which) of ram.

You could even run CentOS on that build, albeit rather slowly. Good enough for a personal server or a low end web server as long as you don't enable all the GUI options.

I feel dumb =/ I think i am the only person who managed to screw up a damn small linux installation. I'll give it another go.

When I boot the CD, it first asks to install an x-server. It always ends up with a fatal error message.
