Hello.

Well I must say that after reading the terms of use, maybe I have doubts to continue here, or maybe because I do not understand some things I wish somebody could clarify.

The issue of "File Storage" refers, for example, those sites that keep files for everyone to download them when you want to see, and along with this, I have thought to put here a university forum in which we have saved our university archives, not to delete them every semester we are we would leave our files stored on this site, to have them throughout our career, and download them when needed? (I think this must be the most important question).

Are considered illegal files are PDF, or videos made by other people? (Which are university documents of our studies, and generally, documents that teachers and students gather to study and approve our subjects).

What do you mean by "Wares"? (Because for me, a ware is from a flash file that runs as a text menu, even entire operating systems).

What are "Crons? (To understand why they are not allowed).

Please someone help me answer these questions, I would be grateful, and I would confirm my decision to stay or withdrawal of this site.

File Storage basically refers to any files that aren't linked to anywhere on the site, or sites trying to act like Hotfile, Megaupload, Rapidshare, etc. Basically every file has to do with the website; from the description you left, it sounds okay to me since it'd be attachments to the forum - perfectly safe.

Illegal files -could- be considered the PDF or Videos made by other people, IF they didn't upload them to your site. If they're the owner and they're uploading them to your site, it's considered consent, and the file becomes legal for you to host. Illegal would be if I took the movie Clash of the Titans and uploaded it onto my site - the original director and movie company did not tell me I could do that, so the file's illegal and will get me permanently suspended.

Warez (note the Z, it's actually a word now thanks to the internet) basically is this, according to google:
"Warez" refers primarily to copyrighted works traded in violation of copyright law.

Basically the same illegal files question you had above; if the original maker says you can host it, then it's safe. If they haven't told you that you can, it's not, like hosting Clash of the Titans :)

Crons are in your cpanel; basically it's a timed-execution of a script, say once per hour, once per day, once every 5 minutes, etc. It's useful if you have an action you want the server to perform at the same times each day/week/month, but don't want to have to remember to login to do it. Free hosting -does- allow crons, we just don't allow them to be executing closer together than 5 minutes. On premium or vps, they can go as close as 1 minute together, which is useful if you're running some form of PHP based game that runs in real-time.

Hopefully that answered them all; if it didn't or if it opened up new questions, let us know :)
