Hello,

I would like to install MediaWiki on my site but during the installation as it says:

"Warning: shell_exec() has been disabled for security reasons in /home/pandya/public_html/wiki/config/index.php on line 1822"

after searching for the same on x10 forums got to know that, people were temporarily upgraded to the advanced php version for 24 hrs. It has been more than 24 hrs since i applied for advanced php stating the same reason. When will it get upgraded? or if there any other workaround then please let me know.

thanks

First try this.. Open up the file in the code editor in cPanel, go to line 1822 and comment it out, and then try to run it and see if it installs. If not, post back here and i'll move this up so an admin can review and possibly approve your request.

There are only 96 lines of codes. I don't know how do i comment then in 1822 (that definitely means that the line is in some other inline function which makes it upto 1822 but how do i find it? )

The file located on your hosting account on: public_html/wiki/config/index.php has more than 96 lines.
I've commented out line 1822 of that file, and you now don't get the error you were getting before on the installation page.
Check if you can install it now.
