I can tell; beats the iPod hands down. Too bad you can't use it as an external.. but with some simple softmods I'm sure it's doable.

Nice camera.

They're planning an early release of Zune 2.0 since the pink Zune was recently leaked and they've forced it to market currently. The pink Zune was to be released on the first of May. Expect the Zune 2.0 in August or September.

You can share files (songs, videos and pictures) with other Zune users. Social networking; the Zune allows you to send and recieve messages along with set up 'friendly' Zunes that it scans for first.

Not to pick a Zune/iPod fight or anything...but how can Zune beat iPod? With Zune you have to buy ALL your music EVEN if you already bought it or not.

How much space does your Zune have? My iPod has 80 gigs and I can use it as an external hard drive.

You can share music, but that person has only 3 days or 3 times to listen to it and then that person has to PAY "80 Microsoft points" (80 cents? NO A DOLLAR!) to listen to it further. And I shouldn't even get started on that Points thing that Microsoft and even Nintendo have been hording off of.

The layout of the Zune is cool (I've played with some) and colorful, but laggy compared to iPod.

I will admit this though, iTunes SUCKS. Its SO slow...but it does organizes my library of 4000 songs very nicely. Windows Media Play....wait I mean the ZUNE SOFTWARE annoyed me a lot.

I should stop my rant because I'd rather not start a flaming war. hehehe

With Zune you have to buy ALL your music EVEN if you already bought it or not.

That explains why my Zune has over 3500 pirated tracks on it...

How much space does your Zune have?

30GB same as the $250 video iPod that it's priced at.

There's a trick to stop that... But I don't think you'd understand changing the music file to a .JPG when transferring it...

My Zune is quicker than my friend's video iPod. Different units have different problems, some may have a bad hard disk, others may not. That's an opinion question.

It does the same thing as iTunes, it's just laid out differently?

I should stop my rant because I'd rather not start a flaming war.

That's a good idea since most of your 'rant' is opinion based with little to no research or facts to back it up.

I've seen the Zune stuff, personally I just love that Apple's getting some decent competition (even though it looks as though the Zune might become the new iPod basically).

At the very least Apple can stop re-releasing the iPod and just keep making it smaller - they might actually have to try something new :)

I'm sick and tired of the Ipod right now. I had one, then it was like completely screwed up. I took it back to the store (not an apple store, I don't live in a big city) and I was four days outside the stores return policy. No biggie, I'll have it repaired. So they said that they would have to send it off, blah blah blah. They put the S/N in, and BAM! The company didn't even want it back. So then we got a free exchange. Now that one has screwed up numerous times. And heres a mystery for you, it only charges on one of my 3 computers, it sporatically disconnects from another, and works fine on another! So I'm buying a Zune. But now that I know another Zune is coming I may wait for it. Well thats my rant.

Well, you nit picked everything I said, makes you look like a bored little kid at home with nothing to do besides post. Wait no, you missed something, the external hard drive bit. Come on now, i gotta see this, this is very entertaining for me :) You're just pissed off because you bought a Zune and realize that you have to do extra things to use it. iTunes: I plug it in, it copies every thing in my library (songs, sounds, movies, pictures). Wait, with the Zune I'd have to rename each and every file I want to give to someone else.

Oops, I should stop, my OPINIONS might get nit picked apart some more. Hey wait a second, you picked apart my opinions as you call them, so how about this. You should have gotten an iPod because Zunes SUCK. More fuel for the fire. Okay, by all means, continue ;)

All you can do is say Zune sucks over and over... And I'm far from mad, I like correcting people's errors.

Theres gunna be a way, even if its renaming mp3 to jpeg and back again. Nothing on the wiki says you have to buy all the music again though, but I'm betting it might not work with the mp3 if it's not copy protected and that crap (again, theres going to be a loophole somewhere).

If the music is encrypted with, say FairPlay (iTunes), then it won't work on the Zune.

But if it's Marketplace ($15 a month for unlimited downloads), ripped from CDs or just pirated, then it will work.

EMI will offer all of their songs (except for the Beatles) DRM-free starting in May for $1.39, so you can buy them from the iTunes music store.

And Microsoft's own PlaysForSure music won't work on the Zune; am I right?

I'm betting you're talking about one of those "someone got it legal but not necessarily me" sources right? :p

According to KowKing they'll work. And the good news? If you got it through one of those sources its probably not copy protected.
