Ok my name is Mike and I use to help run and maintain a web help forum/community. I thought since I'm here and well from the last hijacked post it seems like I could be of some use I'd offer to help in this thread. If its computer related and your not sure about it I'm here to help.
1st Question taken from the hijacked thread.
Q: "I don't get the difference between Sempron and Athlon...speed issues?"-Conor
A: "It is very much a speed issue. A Semprons with one exception are slower than Athlons. They really aren't comparable as far as there names. IE an Athlon 2600+ is faster than a Sempron 2800+. Normaly the difference is internal clock and external clock speed settings (just hardware settings that totally effect performance). I did say there was one exception and that is the 754 socket series (socket is what determines what processor fits in what motherboard). In the 754 socket series the Sempron is faster. Its difference is that it has less L2 Cache."-Mike
