x10hosting's free-hosting accounts do not have remote MySQL database access (both incoming and outgoing from the account)

AND

you might have a issue with [ Mod_Security ]

I am trying to access mongodb, not a MySQL db. I wanted to try a NoSQL database. Does the no remote access apply to that type of db as well?

If you need a different runtime or a different database platform (MongoDB or CouchDB or some such), then you need to decide whether or not you'd be comfortable managing a VPS...
