I'm not sure I enjoy any game-based movie, since they all end up failing extremely hard.
If I had to vote, I would vote for one of the Mortal Kombat movies.

Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon is a cool game which I know is also a movie.

Couldnt put as a poll due to polls only allow for 10 entries and there are fare more game bassed movies.

I watched Resident Evil Extinction last night and was confussed to begin with but after the intro scene things got intresting. Great movie, a must watch if you saw the others.

Final Fantasy, Resident Evil, Tomb Raider and Mortal Kombat did great movies. And the worst in my opinion that I saw from your list would probably be doom. Not a comlete bad movie, but some parts were really bad.

I cant edit my initiall thread ? ? ?
So cant add movies that I missed, but if I did please post them so I can watch them.

I also wasn't impressed by Doom. The only part that I thought was cool and like the real game was where he goes on a killing spree at the end. Thought the 1st person view was pretty good.

I thought Tomb raider was a great take on the game, but the only thing good about the movies was Angelina & the first movie had some of the first ever bluetooth technology.

The Halo movie is on a pretty much indefinite hold. The Peter Jackson thing I believe isn't even a movie but more of an episodic game expanding on the halo universe. At least that's what I'm getting at when I read about what very little we know about it.


Anyway back to the topic...


I liked the Resident Evil movies a lot but the sad fact of the matter is that it had pretty much nothing to do with the game other than the name. I would have loved if it followed the same story line as Resident Evil 1 where they started in a mansion looking for the other members of there team and crap but they threw all that out. If it wasn't for the Resident Evil name and the Lickers I would have never know that it was Resident Evil. They aren't bad movies by any means but they just didn't give the games justice.

That said, it's series was probably the best video game movies to date.


The Mortal Kombat movies were alright but they lacked the over the top blood and gore as in the games. Never the less they followed the story line of the games much better than any other video game movie.

DOOM was just bad.

Agree with you on mortal Kombat.

The first and third resident evil both start in a mansion. I never played the first game though, so cant compair the likness. I think the feel of the games and the movies is very similar. Both get me S**T scared.
