It's quite old news, Microsofts rebranding to keep up with google offering 2Gb mail box and making a simmilar design to www.google.com/ig.

after all windows messenger practically IS msn messenger

No it wont cost anything
and there will be an update for it on msn messenger.

I mayaswell make this Clear. Being a Microsoft Live Messenger beta tester myself, Yes it will replace MSN, Yes i think its automatacially updated, and No- It will not cost a penny
