mx server address not accepted

Hi my email is not working so I have followed the advice on here and switched to google apps . I am in the process of doing this and am at the stage where I am asked to update my mx server record to

ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM.

When I try and enter this I get an error message saying it's not a FQDN fully qualified domain name

Can anyone help please?

Make sure you are not adding last dot ( . )

ASPMX.L.GOOGLE.COM

This is the correct address
