my front page won't show. I named it index.php

I already named a file called index.php and put it in the public_html folder. But when I go to my site, it says

Welcome to your new x10Hosting.com hosting account. You may replace this index.html with your new website. Please remember the best way to receieve support is through the x10Hosting Forums.

I also tried to put an html file named index.html in public_html folder, it doesn't show either.
can anyone help?

yep, it just worked. For some reason, it didn't work before, soo...
