my index doesnt load up please help!!!!!

Hey people im new to this, im having a problem with the index.html iv deleted the original and replaced it with mine only when i load the web address a page that looks like an ftp index comes up saying index of/ then a file list please help.......

I need to get the site up soon before my one week time to get it up an running please help

Have you uploaded the index.html file into the public_html folder?
