My site is broken mysql won't delete previous databases.

Ok so i haven't used my site in a while i made a few mistakes on my database. so i had to manually remove everything and i wanted to try another cms. So once i removed everything. I then went to mysql deleted the database then went to softaculous to download the gallery cms. kept getting errors and a messge telling me mysql couldn't establish a connection. so i then thought i would try something else i tried zenphotos and that didn't work. Ii was getting the same problem so i then went over to mysql database to see what was wrong and the previous database was there aswell as gallerys database. I tried removing them and both kept giving me errors. both saying There was a problem creating the database

so now what? please help!! i went to my site and it's completely blank.
