Okay, as I've always used horrible hosts (compared to x10) I've never used an FTP. I downloaded FileZilla yesterday, can someone give me instructions on uploading and installing MyBB? The FAQ on their site wasn't too helpful.

And yes, I realize this seems like a n00b question coming from someone who knows HTML, Java, CSS, some PHP, etc., etc.

upload all your files in ascii transfer mode to /public_html/mybb/

edit your config file and upload that.

point your browser to the admin or installation directory or file at
http://yoursite.com/mybb/

instructions are rather vague, never installed that script before but their all pretty much the same.

gives us a shout if you need more help.

That's pretty much what I did...now I'm stuck..

Although, I didn't install it to /mybb. I installed it to /community.

Think I've got it now. Thanks. I'll post if I have more problems, so please leave it open for a few days (three,) staff.
Edit:
Okay, now I'm not quite getting an error, but it's got a problem. Most likely because I haven't found the install. XD

I can help install it for you, if you'd like. I'm relatively good at that.

Sure, why not. But I have absolutely no idea of how to get the install to work...currently I get an "Internet Explorer (yes, I use IE) Cannot Display the Webpage" error when I try to access the /install/.

And the proper files have their CHMOD set to 666.

Any ideas?

Oh, well, perhaps that has something to do with it...my bad. Now, for yet another stupid question, how do I do that?

I thought you didn't connect it until the install prompted you to do so.

Ah, I misinterpreted that, you're right. I thought that install worked, you just couldn't get it to run.

Be right back, let me play with a few things for a second.

No, the install just plain doesn't work. If it worked, I'd have no problem.

I wonder if I uploaded the files in the wrong mode, if we can't get it to work, I'll try uploading them again.

Eh, you're right, the installation is being a real beach. :/

I can't actually get past the install because MySQL's down on my server, but it was a real hassle to get up. I'mma try and get it up on another host I use and see if I can help you through install. :)

Be back in a second.

Okay, I'll wait a bit.

It seems the server load's too high (on Stoli,) also.

Edit: Quwen walked me through it via PM, and I thank you for that, but now I can't find the global.php file I need to edit, well, I can find two or three, actually, but none of then have a file with exec() being used on the 374th line, or 374 lines for that matter.

Help's open to anyone who's willing.

Also, as compared to the usual "white screen" error, MyBB just shows me the index. Anyone have any ideas?

Again, here's the URL: http://rphantasia.exofire.net/community

EDIT: I fixed it late last night, support resolved.
