MySQL database not connecting

Here is my problem. Both php and MySQL are new to me, so I'm learning all this as I go along. I've tried to read through the forums on this same issue with the Softaculous installer here: http://www.softaculous.com/board/index.php?tid=14&title=Not_connecting_to_MySQL
but to no avail. There is 6 pages of commentary and the admin in that forum not once addresses the fix to the problem and assures everyone that Softaculous version 2.4 has all the fixes necessary to 'solve' the problem.

Here is what I am getting. I am try to use Softaculous to install the Kamads ad management software. I fill out the fields the same manner as I have before with Noah's classified ad software, which I have already removed. I've also deleted the old databases I had used with it.

When I go to install, it simply gives me the error: The MySQL database could not be established

Apparently, it will not import the DB tables, but i have no clue as to why. Has anyone had a similar issue or does the admin know of a fix?

How many mySQL databases do you have now? There is a limit of 3.

What did you use for the DB name & DB username ?

I just used Softaculous to install Kamads and it went fine.

you are on one of x10's new servers, there may be some kinks in the system, but the administrators will fix them out shortly.

I have alerted the administrators of this problem.
