MySQL Erorr

I get this erorr when I try to install IPB 2.04...

Connection error:

Access denied for user: 'microtec@localhost' to database 'microtec_forum'

Can anyone tell me how to fix this? I have everything corret. I just nead to do this...

Hmmm...Check your user permissions in MySQL section of CPANEL for that user, and check them all. If that still doesn't work, I don't know.

did you apply any security mods so far, it looks like some one has changed your data base password, or may be your database is corrupted, check your config.php file for the proper detail database on your server, make a full back up of your database if you have sql tables inserted in your database, create another fresh database and restore the back up to the new one.

Looks like you have your username setup incorrectly... your username should be microtec_USER . So if my database username was dave but my cPanel login was corey my username would really be corey_dave

no it won't let me edit anything...Here is the photos of what is happening:

I can tell you EXACTLY what is wrong! What you need to do is find the file: config.php in the directory where the virtuanews installer is, find and open config.php, and edit the things accordingly. If you need help just pm me. I could fix this in only a few secs, if you want me to, or you can do it yourself, your choice.

Find the configuration file it writes to (download the entire program at their site, look at the installation part and find what config file it uses, could be something like 'dbconnect', 'dbinfo', or 'config', but not neccesarily. Should be as easy as finding what it writes to. Then edit that field. If need be, change the CHMOD permissions afterwards, but remember that you did so if you need future access.


Edit: Ah crap, thirty minutes late. Oh well, it's a little more extra info.

nah tried to re-upload phpbb and re-crest a database, but still it wouldn't budge.

Let's begin with your folder.. It is CHMOD to 700 if yes change it to 755.. If it is 755 now check the config.php.. Is it locked...I cannot remember what the CHMOD for locked was but it could be 444 if yes change it to 777..

Did you read the install.txt file or whatever??

now you need to edit the config.php file certainly.. you also need to look into the d\base error issue..

If it is not above, i am not really sure about your problem...

Yes I have done all that. I have changed the config.php file and that worked but now I have the same error on another program that I want to install. Here are the pics:
