mysql setup help

hello.. im new here.. i just want to connect my vb application to my mysql database (here in the site). but i just cant connect.. it say's access denied for user.... why is that? i really need to connect my vb app to mysql dbase.. please help me.. thanks..

When you made a SQL Database user, did you give that user all of the permissions? If so, I don't know. LOL. Wait for a staff member to assist you.

What details are you trying to connect with?
Obviously, don't post the password

Is this a new VB install or are you moving it from other place? if so you may have to edit the config file to use the name and password you used for the database you set up.

If its a new install did you run the install.php?

the code i used in my vb app is working in my mysql(setup in the same computer... tried it also in a network and it also work.). but when i connect to the mysql on this site.. that's the problem.

Did you create your database with the cpanel? The host is localhost, the user is your cpanel username, and the password is your cpanel password. Once you create a databse in the cpanel, the name is actually [username]_[dbname].
