I dont know how x10 does it, 300megs no ads... crazy!
I just found this service a few days ago. I will say upload speeds are crazy fast. Ftp exclent. I have used seveal paid yahoo services, and uploads to them have been poor. X10 is screaming fast.

I made the account mostly to provide me with space to mess around with, including phpbb3, and many other scripts that I have wanted to mess with, but I have never had my own server space to do so. I have done several phpbb setups for other buisness, but never have I had the time to dig in deep and see what it can really do.

Now, I want my server space to go to good use, so I will proibly use it as a personal web page to host my portfolio of work.

Just dropping in to say im incredibly impressed with this service.

Glad you like x10hosting, and welcome to x10 doublea!

And yes, I couldn't agree more with you on x10 being able to pump a lot of bandwidth. On a Fiber Optic connection and on my DSL, I was able to get from my website a solid 800KB/s from x10, and that's very high for a server with I believe 3,000 accounts on it. And the upload on FTP goes just as fast. On my DSL, it's my full 180KB/s of upload, and on the fiber optic connection, it squared off near 600KB/s on FTP.

Well it's more impressive really the time inbetween file transfers, via ftp.

Yahoo seems to pause for a good half a second inbetween files, x10 just speeds right though them. Blue host seems to behave the same way.

I notice this because I uploaded a full phpbb3 folder, with several thousand files, and with that tiny pause on yahoo it made the upload like 10 times longer.

(Yes I now know I could have used fantastico to install it for me, but I didnt know of fatastico at the time, Including im happy I have level 2 php now.)

Hello and welcome to x10Hosting. You have just described x10, that's what seperates x10 from the rest.

I've noticed the same thing as well. I've had to upload some site data for people to several hosting companies, including Yahoo and noticed that there would always be a lag time between file transfers. I never notice that on x10, and unlike other hosts where it drops my FTP connection after a while, I've been able to hold solid connections with x10 as well. It shows how much x10 cares about free, which is why I choose them after migrating my site from my home server (which is still in operation, hosting some small sites).

Just as a question, and im sure I could find out if I look around more, what are "credits" used for? If it is all free, are credits used for perks on top of the free service.

Yeah, one of the really good things about x10 is the ftp.
I have tried other free web hosts such as Zendurl, freehyperspace and more.
Most of them have really bad ftp, and they all seem to have dodgy adds in the site manager section or in the 404 error section.

x10 doesn't though, :)

I looked at a few other free hosts, and by far x10 has what seems hundreds of features that many paied services do not have.

Many limit the file size to some crazy small size, ie .5 meg.

One more thing to add, Im also here sadly because one of my favorite services begaun to use ads, freeforums.org , I loved them, but they slow down too ofton. I could live with the ads, but slow preformance and ads is not something im willing to deal with.

Guys, I completely agree with you. I couldn't even explore CPanels multiple features yet...
Is that true that you can use ASP.NET pages on x10?

Hi welcome to x10hosting, yes you should be ale to use ASP.NET pages. That is why x10 is the best it offers more than most free hosts.
