Hi,
I would like to know, if I buy a domain name and make it the main domain of my website example.exofire.net, will I lose then the exofire.net domain?
Meaning that will people trying to access the website on the addrss example.exofire.net have an not found error?

I would also like to know how is it possible to make that domain (parked or add-on...)
Thank you

If you have example.exofire.net and you want another domain let's say example.com, you need to put example.com in "Parked Domains".
If you want example.com to be another web, then put it in "Addon Domains"

I guess that by "another web" you mean a different address than the main one.

Ok fedlerner, I understood for parked domain, but I would like to know if with the parked domain, when I want to access like example.exofire.net/file, and type example.com/file, will the address stay the same or will I be redirected to the original address? (is it like frame masking or different)

I would also like to know if the stats for the new parked domain will be available separated from the exofire.net domain, or the stats will be merged with the ones of the exofire domain?

Thank you, I would really like to know.

Please may someone be kind enough to help; I'm going to be more specific:

Right now I have "account.exofire.net"
And I just acquired "www.domain.com"

Now I don't want "www.domain.com" to redirect to "account.exofire.net".
I want my new "www.domain.com" to be my MAIN domain like "account.exofire.net", with subdirectories and subdomains accessed from "www.domain.com".

How can I do that?

So you want me to change the main domain to www.domain.com.

THen you can park *.exofire.net so that both can be accessed.

You should just have to park it, and change the settings in any scripts you use to the new domain.

This is all about Not having to see the *.exofire.net domain anymore.
(I do not know how domain parking works, but I avoid it because I have knowledge that it's a simple redirect, meaning that if the visitor types domain.com, it will show in the address bar *.exofire.net
Also meaning that if the visitor types *.exofire.net, the address doesn't change to the new domain.)

So yes, I think that what you said Brandon is what I want.

BTW, can I do what you said myself or it needs an admin intervention concerning my account here at x10,
Also, if you park the *.exofire.net domain to domain.com, and the visitor types *.exofire.net, will he be seeing in the address bar domain.com or not?

Thanks a lot.

parking means that anyone viewing domain.com will view the same files as someone viewing your account's main domain/subdomain (*.exofire.net).

No redirection involved.

To do it, just point your domain to ns1.x10hosting.com and ns2.x10hosting.com with NS records. Then, go to cpanel, go to the Parked domains section, and add the domain. Then, go through your scripts, and fix them so that they know your site is domain.com, not *.exofire.net.

@dest581 -- Members have been having problems parking domains and have *.exofire.net showing up.

What I can do is if the domain is parked, unpark it, me or another AM can change it and then park *.exofire.net your account. PM me the following forum and I can do it.

cPanel Username:
Current Domain/sub-domain:
Wanted Domain/Sub-domain:
E-mail (need this as new JM wont set them, and its need for account changes):
