New inactivity timer, don't lose your account!
Starting this week there is now a timer in affect. You must login to your cPanel atleast once every TWO weeks or your account will automatically be deleted.

There are no exceptions to this, it is all automatic. If you're going away for more than two weeks please give someone you trust your login info.

WOW, only 2 weeks ? Seems a bit much in my humble opinion guys, could this not possible be atleast once a month and still meet your needs and still be effective? Reason I ask is personally myself...the only time I really ever need to log into the CPanel would be to create a new database for my phpnuke site, or something along those lines....I use an FTP client to connect, so therefore I would not need to log into the cpanl for file uploads etc.

Just would like to REQUEST that you consider this as a viable option...thank you for your attention in this matter.

I also don't like this timer but I know why its there.

I think I know the reson:

AS you know X10hosting did not start yesterday and has been running for some time. Some Users Get accounts but for various resons they stop using it and the space that they have used are just sitting around. So this Timer Deletes them. But the point this becomes unfair is when its runs for ever it makes it very hard to go some were.

I think the timer should run ones a month so there is no problem. And also a small Warning E-mail would be nice.

Thank you,
Chirantha

You are absolutely right. We have the timer in place to get rid of inactive accounts. There is only a small fraction of accounts that are actually in use. We cant possibly go through each and every one by hand.

We dont think it is very hard to log into cpanel once every two weeks. I log in more than once a day. You may think that cpanel is just a bunch of utilities to MAKE a site, but dont forget it gives you tons of statistics about your site. Visiters, bandwidth, space, visiter demographics and much much more. You should look at your sites statistics atleast once a week. Make it a habit.

so the inactivity timer helps in two ways..

1. help x10hosting to maintain freespace by deleting dead a/cs
2. teaches users how to maintain a website (or cpanel) by threatening account deletion..

good i.. like it :)

MMmmmm i think that u can make backups of your site and the better way i think...is using the backup option in cpanel. its good to have backups every week at least, so i think its great that time in my opinion.

LMAO! thats awsome, yeah its not THAT hard to do, just watch your site, all you have to do is login, you dont have to do anything else, the only reason why this would be an issue is vacations...but im sure by summer when the bulk of vacations are happening that they will have a solution :)
