Like the Longhorn beta, this test will be using the Connect website using unique invite keys for each person. Although testers that are selected will be able to Invite their friends or family to participate with them.

"The MSN Beta Team would like to invite you to sign up for an upcoming MSN Messenger beta program. During this beta program we will be testing a new version of MSN Messenger.

We are looking for a group of testers willing to actively participate and provide useful feedback to our development teams. This will be a short beta program lasting only about 5 weeks".

I am unsure about this, you have to accept a security certification as soon as the page loads and you have to use the Microsoft email service. Thanks, but no thanks. I like MSN messenger the way it is right now.

That too, but if you have a decent antivirus they're not a problem.

BTW i don't know if anyone saw this part? I'm guessing the majority of ppl here are under 16.

You must be at least 16 years old to register for the Services. In addition, if you are between the ages of 16 and 18, you will need to complete a Parental Consent Form prior to registration. By registering for the Services you represent that you are 16 years of age or older.

That's actually funny, I'm 14 and I'm boycotting it but people between the ages of 16 and 18 must be dying for an invitation. Yeah Microsoft, screw over another age group.

If you are talking to someone on IM you are safe.

If the first thing you get from someone is

Hey check this out!! LINK that is a virus

There are no IM worms that I know of (A worm doesnt require user intervention)

And actually AIM was the latest target of the IM viruses
