New to all this...help =(

Hi

This is my first time ever running a website, and I don't really know what to do... :happysad:

I have an index.html that my friend sent me, and I want to upload it onto the website, but when I go to my website all I see is an
"Index of / " and just a bunch of folders.

My question is, how do I upload that index.html or edit the one that's already in place to make it look different?

Upload it to your public_html or WWW directory.

You can upload by using a FTP Program such as SmartFTP or through the control panel (cPanel) > "File Manager"

Download that and then upload them to the public_html folder.

Well I uploaded the HTML to the public_html folder, but now when I visit my site, all I see is my HTML file listed like this, in this order:

_private

cgi-bin

images

index.html <- this is the file I want my site to look like

postinfo.html

If you've the file index.html correctly named and in your public_html folder you shouldn't see that in your browser, you should see the web. Try renameing the file...

Lol I am an idiot, I named the file index2.html for some reason. It works now!
