new to the community, but having e-mail problems

Very happy to be part of the community, just got started yesterday, linked my accounts as well and also linked my old domain to point to my hosting here. :happysad:

Having some issues though with email.

Host name: artaffects.x10hosting.com
Username: samirme
mail account NX
setting on domain
controlpanel: mail.artaffects.x10hosting.com
Made 3 email accounts, none of them are receiving any email. Tried the online email as well, nothing is working (as in sending or receiving) however emails are logging in.
If I try sending email from online (horde), i get an smtp error.

Any assistance will help!

Well SMTP is currently down, which would explain not being able to send e-mail.

As for not being able to receive e-mail i'm not sure. Can you access the default e-mail account YourCpanelName@YourSubDomain.com
You can find it in cPanel.

I don't think you send messages to the default e-mail, you need to make one.

I didnt understand by what you meant when u say "need to make one", either way i did create a new email account (samirme@artaffects.x10hosting.com), but still no emails are being received.

Also, on one of the emails, this is the return error field i get:

Your message cannot be delivered to the following recipients:

Recipient address: media@art-affects.com
Reason: Illegal host/domain name found

Ok got the point for accessing the default in the cpanel, yes i can access it.

When did you change your name servers, you still might have to wait for them to update.

Hey Brandon,
The servers seem updated, when i do a email trace route the servers lead to ur servers, and so does the ping. Either way, i will wait up and see what happens as none of the emails are working, even those created on the default domain.

When will it get fixed? Does the free hostings get this sendmail/SMTP?

I've put some extra checks into the E-mail system to keep it from staying off when it recognizes a spammer. This should stop all the SMTP\Mail issues.

Please re-open the thread if you have any other issues.
