Hi,
I wonder if anyone can help. I'm trying to set up an online sfa database system using Sugar CRM. I've got as far as uploading the zip file, extracting the files & sorting out the permissions, but just cannot get past the next hurdle. Here is what the installation instructions say:
'The system user that your Web server uses to access files in your webroot varies depending on your operating system configuration. Common Web server users include:
•
apache (Linux/Apache)
•
nobody (Linux/Apache)
•
IUSR_computerName (Windows/IIS)
If you are unsure of your web server user, consult your system administrator.
5.
Prior to viewing Sugar through the browser, ensure that file permissions are set for Read/Execute to “includes” directory and “sugar root directory “(in addition to the already existing list of directories/files).
Using the Sugar Setup Wizard
After you copy the Sugar files into your web root, you can use the Sugar Setup Wizard. The Sugar URL http://<yourServer>/<yourSugarDirectory>/install.php is the URL that you will use to access the Sugar Setup Wizard.
For example: http://localhost/Sugar-Full_5.5.1/install.php'
Now, i've tried every possible comnbination of URL's to access the set up wizard, but nothing seems to work, so i suspect that maybe i'm using the wrong web server user name, or wrong directory details.
Alternatively, if anyone knows of a sfa/crm system that can be installed with just a few clicks, or via Fantastico/Softaculous, do let me know, as Sugar does seem a bit OTT for what i want & runs very slowly if the complicated installation process is successful.
Ta very much!
