No more custom error pages!?

Hello,
So we can't use our own Error pages now? I really liked my error pages (if you do not know what I'm talking about, you used to be able to have your own custom "Error 404 - Page Not Found" page.) Now the error pages are really deceiving. Now I get this:

The page you requested does not exist, you can try visiting this site's home page below

And below that statement is a fake website used for advertisements. Isn't there a better alternative for advertising, or does it have to be that sleazy?

As far as I am aware, we never allowed custom error pages. How long ago did you have your error pages?
Its Corey's idea, so its however he wants it.

You can always post a suggestion if you want, to request ideas for error pages.

I swore I had my error pages working like less than a week ago. Um, I have the 400.shtml, 401.shtml, 403.shtml and so on in my folder on the server. I'll try making a suggestion. Poo.

We control the 404's for an additional source of income, this free hosting stuff ain't cheap

What I tell everyone else, just make sure you have no broken links and you won't see it
