non-writable files in wordpress

hi, i can't edit my theme in wordpress, because at the bottom says "If this file were writable you could edit it."

Last night i could edit my theme in wordpress but now i can't and i didn't change my permissions.
what can i do?

The most obvious answer would be to go and attempt to change the permission on the file and see if that works?

yes i did it, but it still don't work

So, the answer was to edit the permissions. ... Now you say something happened with the new server. But didn't give us anything to go on. What errors are you seeing? What messages are you getting when you attempt to edit the theme or whatever you are working on?
