not enough system resources?

while using cpanel to try to create email addresses for a newly-created domain, i got an error saying my uid wasn't able to be found.

then the following error appeared, several times:

Internal Server Error

open3: pipe(GLOB(0x1cf74af0), GLOB(0x1ccfd950)) failed: Too many open files in system at cpsrvd-ssl line 6086

So, now that that's over, if you continue to have the problem, I will escalate your issue, but I think it's temporary.
