Hi,
To set the file permission to 644 and directories to 755, the easy way of doing is to connect to the folder using filezilla ftp client.
You can check this video on managing files and folders using filezilla.
Check if the problem is solved.
ELse the .htaccess file contents are to be checked again.But changing file and folder permissions, most problems should be solved.
Check and revert back if you have a problem.
