over use of system resources

my account got suspended because of system overuse
i am currently running joomla and smf on same database, not sure how avoid this
so that i wouldnt get suspended next time in furture

Joomla seems to have a problem with excessive resource usage. Try to disable anything you aren't using on Joomla and see if that helps. SMF shouldn't be a problem regardless of sharing a database.
