over write files via file manager

I want to upgrade my cms and want to overwrite some of my existing files.
I have a .zip files and when it extract it is not overwriting my existing files.
How to do it via file manager.
I know it can be done via a ftp but i really want to know how to do via file manager itself.

I don't know that you can in cPanel when extracting a .zip file, if you had raw ssh access you could, but cPanel does it in a safe way, that way you don't replace something you didn't mean to.

how to know that i have raw ssh access?
i dont know the procedure.can u please say shortly..

No one has it. So, you're either going to delete the files ahead of time you want to replace, or upload them via ftp.
