Hey x10, whats going on?

Im wondering about owning proxys and stuff because I may wanna make one to bypass school stuff.

Are they illegal to own? Why do most hosts not allow them?

Does nayone know any good proxy scripts?

Thanks.

Re: Owning Proxy's

Hey. Maybe you should read the Terms of Service. Because, clearly you don't understand that we don't allow proxies here, either. ;)

Also most hosts don't allow proxy's as if you don't run it right, there could be problems with law enforcment, also most proxy scripts use a lot of bandwidth and resources, which can be problems.

Re: Owning Proxy's

Proxies are used for circumventing systems, or for hiding your identity. Thus, they can be abused pretty easily. That's why most hosting companies don't allow them.

The best (that I'm aware of) proxy script is CGIProxy. I love it because it supports SSL, so I can thus login to facebook from school :p

If you do find a place to set one up, I'd suggest password protecting it (.htaccess) or only allowing certain IP addresses to use it.
