I'll be honest I'm not very good at this stuff so I apologise if I'm missing something obvious. I am trying to create a website for a friend whose setting herself up as a counsellor. When I load up frontpage and click the new single page website I am asked to give a location for the new site. I have entered http://lhcounselling.x10hosting.com/index.html So far so good. This then brings up a login screen asking me for my username and password. I have tried my username as both Medusa and medusa. No luck. What am I doing wrong? I have no trouble logging into my control panel from the web, or looking at the web page http://lhcounselling.x10hosting.com/ (which is currently blue with the standardised white text) I don't get any error message just the password box clearing it's self. I'm using Microsoft FrontPage 2002 and cant afford to upgrade since I am currently on long-term medical leave from university. I am also Dyslexic so programming HTML straight of is not really an option. Once I have the ruddy thing hosted I intend to really crack on with the design but I would rather be able to just update the site "live" than having to muck around with FTP as a lot of the information on the site will be liable to change at short notice.

Are you using the ftp part of it ? if so it should be ftp.lhcounselling.x10hosting.com
port 21
cpanel username
cpanel password

This will then give you access to all your folders and files on the website itself. You will then need to make sure you upload the files directly into the public_html folder. If this is a new site you can allow it to overwrite the original index.html file since you won't be needing it anymore.

Also always use lowercase letters in the password. The cpanel tends to frown on capitol letters.

In your cPanel you probably have to install frontpage extensions. There should be an icon for it.

I'm not completely green. I have already installed the extensions which is why the host server is being recognised.

I'll try again using the ftp section but to be honest I was having trouble getting FrontPage to work properly unless the site was hosted on-line.

The method I tried was ...

New Web Template
Single Page Website
Site location http://lhcounselling.x10hosting.com/index.html
Press OK
Login Box Appears
enter name + Password
When I click OK again Password box resets to empty.
There are only lower-case letters in the password (+1 digit) I'ts the username I Capitalised though when using the CP it prefers all the letters to be in lower-case.
