are you talking .htaccess or what

i believe so, but if its linked and you don't want ads on that page sorry. that script checks every paged linked.

Then again i may be wrong. and you may not be allowed to have password protected pages

Yes you can, You can do this via cPanel. Every page that is viewable by people (whether pass-protected or not) needs an ad. If you do try and not put ads on it, beware, you will end up with a suspension for not putting ads on all pages.

As Nobody has REALLY Answered, Yes you can, just log onto your cpanel and near the bottom should be an icon and underneath saying ' Password protect '. Click this icon, and select the pages.
Also http://www.hotscripts.com Look on there, have very good P/W Protecting scripts.

Most (well nearly all) of the password-protection scripts on hotscrips.com run via php and normally require your site to use php pages. There might be the odd one that can be used with html but it may take a while.

cPanel password protection is much better and easier to manage.

i do not think it will count passworded directories (by .htacsess) in the ad script because you most likely arnt letting the public view it, but there could be cases were it would search it for ads, and if it didnt have any... well, then you'll just have to go and get unsuspeneded and place some.

It just pays to have the ad code on all webpages (whether they be html or php) - this exludes files that are part of Invision Power Board, etc (the ad code needs to be installed from within the admin control panel of them or anything similar)

If your site's main directory, such as example.x10hosting.com/ prompts for a password, (Be it HTTP basic auth or anything like that.), my script will not see the ads, thus, it will suspend your account.

I would recommend having a main page with the ads, THEN having it link to the password protected page/rest of site.

That or a page with the ads that it's redirected after 5 seconds to some other page.

Just use from cPanel -- >Password protect directories. You first need to set a user, after that return and select your files, select the user and protect.
